A Verisk 3E Case Study

Preview of the Illinois Tool Works Case Study

Illinois Tool Works Relies on Verisk 3E’s 3E Generate Authoring Software to Forge Accurate, Compliant, and Multilingual SDSs

Illinois Tool Works (Illinois Tool Works), a Fortune 200 diversified industrial manufacturer with more than 800 decentralized businesses worldwide, faced inconsistent and error-prone Safety Data Sheet (SDS) creation because each unit authored its own hazard communication documents to meet varied regional regulations. To standardize and reduce compliance risk across multiple GHS adaptations and country-specific rules, ITW partnered with Verisk 3E and adopted the 3E Generate enterprise SDS authoring software.

Verisk 3E implemented an opt-in, shared-services deployment of a hosted, ITW-specific 3E Generate instance with named-user licenses, integrated regulatory content, and quarterly updates, enabling rules-based, multilingual SDS and label authoring. The solution has delivered measurable benefits: ITW PolySpec THIOKOL now authors SDSs for 800+ products and maintains a catalog of 2,000+ documents in English, Spanish and French, LPS Labs and other ITW businesses have moved off spreadsheets to more reliable, consistent SDSs, and the platform has eased the transition to HCS 2012—demonstrating faster, more cost-effective compliance under Verisk 3E.
