FMI Corporation - Customer Case Study

FMI Corporation, through the Food Marketing Institute’s Sustainability Task Force, needed a simple way for its 1,500 member companies to estimate carbon footprints, compare results against industry benchmarks, and identify sustainability improvements without creating duplicate company entries. FMI worked with Verisae and its carbon emissions management capabilities to build a web-based carbon footprint calculator that could be used by non-technical users.

Verisae implemented a hosted SaaS solution based on Enterprise Emissions Tracking (EET), with custom web application development and calculations aligned to The Climate Registry and California Climate Action Registry protocols. The tool enabled FMI members to convert data such as refrigerant use, fuel, and electricity into carbon equivalents, compare footprints to industry averages, and evaluate “what-if” reduction scenarios with ROI, giving FMI a secure, scalable baseline for carbon reporting and sustainability planning.
