A Verimatrix Case Study
Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan’s largest telecommunications company, faced a need for multi-layer geographic redundancy for its IPTV and OTT platforms across four geo-redundant data centers (two in Taipei, two in Tainan). With Verimatrix already providing revenue security via its VCAS™ solution, Chunghwa engaged the Verimatrix Global Services team to design a disaster-recovery plan that would allow independent regional failover, synchronize encrypted content and keys in real time, and keep north/south subscriber records distinct.
Verimatrix Global Services implemented a high‑availability architecture using Oracle RAC and Oracle Data Guard across the four sites, combined VCAS for IPTV Wholesale/Retail with a custom real‑time OTT key synchronization solution, and ensured content and keys were distributed without syncing subscriber databases. The Verimatrix solution delivered transparent regional failover, real‑time key and asset synchronization, passed all functional, redundancy and failover tests, and continued to operate through several large earthquakes with no service interruptions.
