TGI Fridays Restaurant & Bar, a UK chain with over 66 restaurants, faced aging, non-integrated pay-at-the-table terminals that were near end-of-life for PCI compliance and limited back-office visibility. To enhance the guest experience and streamline payments, the chain partnered with Verifone and renewed its Payments-as-a-Service (PaaS) contract to replace the legacy devices.

Verifone deployed more than 600 NFC/CTLS-enabled VX 680 and VX 820 DUET portable and countertop terminals across the UK, integrated into its PaaS for end-to-end transaction visibility and back-office access. The Verifone solution delivered a faster, secure pay-at-the-table experience, future-proofed payments (Apple Pay and other contactless methods), PCI certification and pre-certification with major acquirers, and added support for gift card redemption.
