MyChef, the Italian brand of Elior Group (130 restaurants in Italy; Elior operates 14,500 restaurants in 15 countries), needed a cashless, contactless payment approach to speed up transactions, reduce waiting times and improve the customer experience. To achieve this, MyChef partnered with Verifone (with MasterCard) to introduce integrated contactless payment acceptance across its estate using the Verifone VX 820 PIN pad and MasterCard PayPass.

Verifone deployed the VX 820 with an integrated NFC/CTLS reader and PCI PTS 3.0 security across all 130 MyChef restaurants in Italy, enabling tap-and-go payments accepted in seconds. The Verifone solution reduced cash handling, shortened queues, increased operational efficiency and provided technological differentiation — a nationwide rollout covering all 130 sites and leveraging MasterCard PayPass’s broad contactless acceptance.
