Gruppo Cremonini, the Italian restaurant group behind brands like Chef Express, Moka, Mr Panino and Roadhouse Grill, needed a modern, secure and easy-to-integrate payment solution to accept chip & PIN, mag stripe, contactless cards and NFC smartphone payments. Verifone equipped 350 restaurants with 650 VX 820 units and 200 VX 680 portables featuring integrated NFC/CTLS readers, touch displays for signature capture, PCI PTS security and direct cash register integration to remove human error. The Verifone solution delivered faster, cashless transactions with immediate confirmation—contactless payments under €25 are accepted in seconds with no PIN—and improved operational reliability across the group.
