Global P2P Loan Marketplace Mintos Chooses Veriff

Mintos, a global P2P loan marketplace with more than 150,000 investors across 72 countries, needed to move beyond manual document uploads to meet tighter KYC rules and stop stolen identities and fraud. To strengthen onboarding and fraud prevention, Mintos selected Veriff’s identity verification service — including face, document, device and network diagnostics and Veriff’s background video recording — to verify users’ real identities.

Veriff implemented its fast verification flow (about two minutes to verify, decision in under five) and reduced manual data entry, while Mintos and Veriff improved the onboarding experience with guidance, tool tips and optional reminders. Although conversion initially fell to 57% as users adapted, the joint fixes restored conversion to above 90% with most investors verified on the first attempt, delivering stronger fraud protection without long-term loss of customers. Veriff’s layered checks and video-based analysis provided the credible, scalable verdicts Mintos required.
