Estonian Youth Work Centre Benefits From Verifications

The Estonian Youth Work Centre (EYWC), which coordinates youth work and certifies camp managers and counsellors for roughly 90 organisations serving about 30,000 children annually, faced the challenge of delivering trainings and secure qualification exams when face-to-face contact was restricted by COVID-19. To solve identity checks remotely, the centre turned to Veriff’s remote identity verification offering through Veriff’s 1 million free verifications program.

Veriff implemented a digital ID flow that sends candidates a verification link before they log in to the e‑exam platform; candidates use a camera-equipped device and a government-issued ID (ID card, passport or residence permit) and are then directed to the exam site. By using Veriff, the Estonian Youth Work Centre was able to continue virtual trainings and examinations while protecting personal data and preserving its ability to certify the roughly 500–600 trainees who normally take exams each year.
