Bolt, the European mobility super-app, used Veriff’s identity verification services to support onboarding for Bolt Drive, its short-term car rental service. Bolt needed a fast, frictionless way to verify that drivers met strict requirements, including being over 20, holding a valid category B driver’s license, and having at least 12 months of driving experience, while also maintaining zero tolerance for fraud.

Veriff implemented an identity verification flow through its SDK and later API, helping Bolt extract driving category data, detect duplicate accounts, and improve accuracy and user experience. The results included smoother onboarding, a significant increase in users starting the verification process, very low incidents tied to verification issues, and stronger safety and trust for Bolt’s service over the past 5 years.
