A Veridium Case Study
The Peruvian National Police needed a fast, field‑ready way to verify identities during random security screenings at the 2019 Pan American Games, which drew some 420,000 spectators, athletes and officials. They already used a smartphone app to scan national ID cards but required high‑quality fingerprint capture that would integrate with their existing app without adding mobile hardware. Veridium was selected to provide that capability using its 4 Fingers TouchlessID solution.
Veridium integrated 4 Fingers TouchlessID into the police force’s app so officers could use a smartphone rear camera to capture four fingerprints at once—no additional devices required—and match them against Peru’s national biometric database. The result was faster, more accurate screenings, improved officer ability to confirm identities, higher public participation in checks, and a straightforward rollout (a short video and brief training), leading the Peruvian National Police to continue using Veridium after the Games.
