To address this, they turned to the VERICUT software from CGTech for simulation, but they also sought to further automate their workflow to increase efficiency and reduce errors, especially as they managed a high volume of new and repeat jobs each week.

The solution involved creating a custom automation system that integrated directly with VERICUT. This homegrown file management system, developed in-house, automatically generates VERICUT project code, extracts models from CAD software, and runs simulations in the background. The implementation by Thumb Tool, utilizing VERICUT’s capabilities, saved their programming team several hours each week, eliminated mistakes, and significantly reduced the time spent on repeat jobs by automating the entire regeneration process.
