Cutting through errors with Force – machining critical parts at RO-RA Aviation Systems

RO-RA Aviation Systems, an Austrian aerospace supplier of high-precision components, faced a significant challenge with costly machine crashes and process unreliability despite using CAM software. To prevent these errors and increase the security of their machining operations for critical aircraft parts, the company sought a solution and implemented Vericut in 2018.

The Vericut software provided a virtual machining digital twin to check 100% of the NC code for errors, completely eliminating crashes. RO-RA further enhanced its process by adopting the Force module, which optimizes feed rates. This resulted in machining time reductions of up to 25%, a specific engine part time cut by 18%, and tool life improvements of up to 40% for difficult materials like Inconel, significantly boosting their competitiveness.
