A Vericut Case Study
MI Integration, a Canadian mold builder, faced a significant challenge with frequent and costly machine collisions during deep cavity and large part work, leading to excessive downtime and the replacement of up to eight spindles in a single year. To address this, the company chose to implement Vericut's toolpath simulation and optimization software.
The solution from Vericut allowed MI Integration to simulate actual post-processed machine code, checking for collisions, over-travel conditions, and other errors across the entire machine environment. This successfully prevented nearly all crashes, drastically reducing machine downtime and associated expenses. The company further automated the simulation process for efficiency and is now leveraging the software to support new five-axis machining centers, with plans to integrate an optimization module to further reduce cycle times and increase tool life.
