Utility Optimization Software Provider Verdafero Helps Sugar Bowl Ski Resort Analyze Their Sustainability Efforts and Save Money

Sugar Bowl Ski Resort, a medium-sized ski area in California’s Lake Tahoe region, needed better visibility into its utility usage and sustainability performance. Because its electric, gas, water, waste, and fuel data came from different billing cycles and providers, the resort struggled to compare season-to-season performance, factor in weather and ski counts, and understand its carbon footprint. Verdafero provided its MyVerdafero utility optimization software platform to help address these challenges.

With Verdafero’s InSights platform, Sugar Bowl Ski Resort gained real-time tracking, analysis, and reporting across utility costs and sustainability metrics, including carbon footprint reporting. The resort was able to replace manual spreadsheet work, save staff time, spot billing errors and equipment issues faster, and make better capital decisions using weather-adjusted comparisons. Verdafero did not provide a specific dollar savings figure for Sugar Bowl, but the case study says the solution improved reporting and operational efficiency while supporting more informed sustainability decisions.
