Utility Optimization Software Platform Helps Hilton Concord stay a Leader in Sustainability

The Hilton Concord hotel, owned and operated by Interstate Hotels & Resorts, sought to gain greater transparency into its sustainability initiatives and reduce its environmental footprint while cutting operational costs. To meet this challenge, the hotel partnered with vendor Verdafero to implement its Utility Optimization Software Platform.

The Verdafero solution provided the hotel's management with real-time tracking, analysis, and reporting of all utility expenses, including energy, water, and waste streams. A key result was an increase in the landfill diversion rate from 14.1% to 37%, diverting 13.3 tons of waste from landfills. Furthermore, Verdafero's software, which normalized data for weather and occupancy, revealed the hotel had actually reduced its energy consumption by 7.8%, equivalent to 51.5 tCO2e, solidifying its position as a sustainability leader.
