Case Study: Global Sportswear Retailer achieves $10M holiday sales lift with Vercel

A Vercel Case Study

Preview of the Global Sportswear Retailer Case Study

Retailer sees $10M increase in sales on Vercel

Global Sportswear Retailer, a global sportswear and apparel company, needed to improve ecommerce performance and reliability during peak shopping periods like Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Its Salesforce Commerce Cloud setup struggled with slow page loads, client-side personalization bottlenecks, scalability issues, and architectural limitations that made it difficult to deliver fast, flexible experiences at scale. Vercel was brought in to support a modernized storefront built with Next.js.

Vercel helped the retailer move from a monolithic setup to a headless architecture, using Vercel Functions, Middleware, caching, and compute to power personalized experiences across multiple domains. The migration delivered a 500ms reduction in Time to First Byte, 10x faster load testing performance than Salesforce Commerce Cloud alone, a 33% increase in average orders per minute, and a 2% lift in overall conversions. Most importantly, the retailer avoided downtime during Black Friday for the first time and generated $48 million in holiday weekend sales, up $10 million year over year.
