A Verbit Case Study
Virginia Western Community College faced a shift from providing captioning and transcription to a small number of students for ADA compliance to needing universal, easy‑to‑use accessibility across all video content as remote and hybrid learning expanded. The college sought a solution accurate enough for different levels of hearing impairment and simple enough for less tech‑savvy faculty, and partnered with Verbit to deploy captioning, transcription, and live CART tools.
Verbit implemented seamless captioning, transcription, and live CART workflows and helped onboard stakeholders across departments, calming faculty concerns and driving campus‑wide adoption. As a result, Verbit enabled Virginia Western to move from limited services to broad video accessibility that meets ADA requirements and supports hybrid learning—helping the college serve its more than 9,000 annual credit students and uniting faculty and students around a more accessible learning experience.
