A large healthcare provider faced significant challenges in promoting a new type 2 diabetes medication to physicians. The primary hurdle was a steep decline in physician accessibility, as sales reps had far less in-person and virtual access. Furthermore, physicians spent very little non-working time online, making them difficult to reach through traditional internet marketing. The provider needed to increase awareness and educate healthcare providers (HCPs) during their daily workflow.
The vendor, Veradigm, implemented its Digital Health Media service to deliver targeted messages directly to HCPs within their electronic health record (EHR) systems. This solution placed approved medication information in front of specialists and relevant generalists during their normal workflow, a point when they are most engaged. As a result, Veradigm surpassed the client's goals for 2021 by delivering more targeted impressions than planned, with HCPs viewing the message for an average of 32 seconds.
