State of Franklin Healthcare’s Collaboration with Veradigm and Exact Sciences

State of Franklin Healthcare, a 280‑provider multi‑specialty group in Johnson City, TN, faced time‑consuming, error‑prone manual workflows for Exact Sciences’ Cologuard® test orders (website/fax), often taking more than 30 minutes per order and delaying care. To resolve this, State of Franklin partnered with Veradigm, leveraging Veradigm EHR (VEHR) and the Veradigm Diagnostic Ordering and Results Network (DORN) to move to electronic ordering and results connectivity.

Veradigm implemented DORN integration with VEHR (in collaboration with Exact Sciences), plus tailored training and a phased rollout, to automate Cologuard orders and results retrieval. The Veradigm solution eliminated faxing, reduced order time to about five minutes (saving roughly 20–30 minutes per order), saved an additional 10–15 minutes on results retrieval, cut errors, sped turnaround (often under a week), and improved staff and provider satisfaction.
