Israel network integrates clinical data for 8 million patients

Clalit Health Services, one of the world's largest HMOs, faced a challenge in sharing clinical information across its vast network of hospitals and clinics. Dozens of disparate EHR systems could not communicate, leading to delayed, lost, or incomplete patient records that hindered the quality and efficiency of care. To create a continuum of care, they turned to Veradigm (Allscripts) and implemented the dbMotion™ Solution.

The Veradigm dbMotion solution created the Ofek Network, a web-based interoperability platform that aggregates a view-only patient record from disparate systems in under 10 seconds. This provided clinicians with a complete patient picture at the point of care. The implementation resulted in significant organizational savings by reducing unnecessary lab tests and imaging studies, improved patient outcomes, and became the model for a nationwide health information exchange in Israel, ultimately connecting millions of patient records across the country.
