A Veradigm Case Study
King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, a major London teaching hospital, struggled with a paper-based system for documenting critical clinical decisions. Their challenge was achieving consistent and complete documentation of ‘do not attempt cardiopulmonary resuscitation’ (DNACPR) status and treatment escalation plans (TEP) for patients, with initial paper-based compliance below 20%. This inconsistency risked inappropriate care during emergencies.
The Trust worked with Veradigm, implementing an intelligent order set within the Allscripts Sunrise platform to create a unified electronic tool. This solution electronically linked the required forms, making the process a clear, one-stop shop for clinicians. As a result, Veradigm helped the Trust increase documentation compliance from 18% to nearly 100%, empowering clinical staff and ensuring patients receive appropriate levels of intervention.
