Healthy EHR core and prenatal solution improve efficiency

The Iowa Clinic is a large, physician-owned multi-specialty practice in West Des Moines that needed to move off paper records, scale an EHR across 40 specialties, meet Meaningful Use and PCMH requirements, support complex OB/GYN workflows (including the ACOG antepartum form), and boost patient engagement. To address those needs the organization chose Allscripts and implemented Allscripts TouchWorks EHR along with Allscripts Prenatal and the FollowMyHealth patient portal.

Allscripts deployed TouchWorks EHR (2007), Allscripts Prenatal (2008) and FollowMyHealth (2014), delivering cloud-accessible prenatal workflows, faster data retrieval and secure messaging that improved efficiency and care coordination. As a result, The Iowa Clinic successfully attested to Meaningful Use since 2011 and earned $4,286,437 in incentive funds, achieved NCQA Level-Three PCMH certification, and enrolled more than 30,000 patients in FollowMyHealth in the first 20 months (averaging 400+ new signups per week).
