Bridging the Digital Divide with Allscripts Telehealth

SBH Health System, a Bronx-based healthcare provider, was looking for a way to expand telehealth beyond basic video calls while maintaining quality, convenience, and access for patients, especially those in behavioral health. It had already used Veradigm’s Sunrise solution and FollowMyHealth platform, but needed a stronger telehealth experience that could support both portal and non-portal patients.

Veradigm implemented the FollowMyHealth telehealth solution with integrated scheduling from Sunrise, giving patients access to visit summaries, medication details, secure messaging, and video visits in one workflow. The rollout improved adoption across outpatient specialties, especially behavioral health, and by July 2020 SBH Health reported 400 unique patients logging in for psychology visits in a single week, showing strong uptake and helping bridge the digital divide.
