Advanced, flexible technology improves emergency care at Alberta Health Services

Alberta Children's Hospital, part of Alberta Health Services, sought to improve emergency care and clinical outcomes through enhanced technology. To address challenges with sepsis intervention, medication management, and clinical performance tracking, they partnered with Veradigm and implemented the Allscripts Sunrise platform, including its Acute, Ambulatory, and Emergency Care modules.

By utilizing the flexible Allscripts Sunrise system, Veradigm helped the hospital develop targeted solutions such as an adjustable sepsis alert and revised medication order sets. This resulted in a 16% reduction in the time to administer antibiotics for sepsis patients and significant cost savings from improved medication use. Veradigm's technology also provided physicians with access to clinical performance data, fostering more consistent and effective care practices.
