How Saint Mary’s School Connects with Donors

Saint Mary’s School, an all-girls Episcopal college preparatory day and boarding school in Raleigh, North Carolina, needed a better way to connect with its 9,500+ alumnae and other constituents. With a small Advancement Office, the team was spending too much time on manual solicitations, paper check processing, and donor research, and wanted a more personalized fundraising approach. The school uses Veracross, including Veracross Development, to better manage donor relationships.

Using Veracross Development, Saint Mary’s School built personalized outreach campaigns, dedicated giving days, and a lapsed donor strategy based on detailed constituent data. Veracross helped the team increase online gifts from 400 to over 1,200, grow online giving from $100,000 to $400,000, raise average alumnae gifts from $658 to $868 and parent gifts from $364 to $980, and increase annual fund contributions from $1.55 million to $1.755 million. Donor retention also improved to 67%, well above the 43.6% industry average.
