Case Study: Carmel Catholic High School streamlines cohort tracking and hybrid attendance with Veracross

A Veracross Case Study

How Carmel Catholic is using Veracross for cohort learning

Carmel Catholic High School, a college preparatory school of 1,150 students (grades 9–12), struggled with tracking, scheduling, and reporting for hybrid, in-person, and virtual learners during the 2020–2021 academic year. To address teacher confusion over which students to expect in person versus remotely, the school turned to Veracross and its Cohort Tracking and Scheduling feature.

Veracross’ Cohort Tracking and Scheduling and Faculty Portal provide class- and day-level cohort reports, in-person vs. remote rosters, and per-student overrides for quarantines or parent-requested remote days, allowing Carmel Catholic High School to pivot students without changing whole cohorts. The result, says Special Projects Lead Marisue Lacher, is simplified teacher workflows, more accurate attendance coding, quicker resolution of discrepancies by the central attendance office, and a tailored system in active use since the start of 2020–2021.
