Getting Faculty and Staff on Board at Armbrae Academy

Armbrae Academy, a Preschool through Grade 12 independent school in Halifax, Nova Scotia, needed a better student information system after years of struggling with a custom-built platform and then a FileMaker Pro-based system that was slow, awkward, and difficult for faculty and staff to adopt. The school’s main challenge was finding a single source of information that could replace disconnected tools and reduce errors, gaps, and overlap across their operations.

Armbrae Academy chose Veracross and implemented its SIS in early 2024, launching it ahead of the 2024-25 school year. With Veracross, the school now uses one data source for academics, communications, portals, and athletics, improving organization, streamlining information access, and increasing staff adoption thanks to the platform’s speed, ease of use, and flexible roles. While the case study does not give a specific numeric metric, Veracross helped reduce misinformation, improve parent visibility, and drive faster, more natural use across the school community.
