A large financial services firm needed to control traders’ mobile app use to meet SEC requirements and protect corporate data. Its manual whitelisting process for a private iOS app store created an unmanageable backlog and drove employees to workaround behaviors (including carrying multiple devices), harming productivity and security.

The firm deployed Veracode’s Mobile Application Reputation Service with MobileIron’s EMM to automate app security assessments, enforce custom policies via a dashboard, and publish approved apps to the enterprise store. The solution enabled rapid vetting and rollout—500 apps onto 5,000 corporate devices—using only part of one person’s time, eliminating the backlog and providing a scalable whitelisting process without added headcount.
