Pokémon Leverages Vera's Platform to Secure Intellectual Property and Personal Information

Pokémon Go faced a sudden surge of users — reaching about 5 million daily active users and over 800 million downloads — which created a large influx of personal identifiable information (PII) and increased the need to protect intellectual property across a complex third‑party supply chain. To avoid restricting collaboration while securing rich media, game designs and PII, Pokémon Go adopted Vera to bake security into workflows and protect files wherever they travel.

Vera implemented document‑level protection (unique per‑file keys, AES‑256 encryption and its patented Always‑on File Security), seamless integrations with cloud tools like SharePoint and Dropbox, and automated, agentless encryption and audit logging. As a result, Pokémon Go gained 360° visibility and centralized control over sensitive files, an auditable chain of custody for compliance, and the ability for designers, finance teams and partners to collaborate faster without exposing PII or IP — all while Vera protected data across devices and cloud platforms.
