Large Financial Services Company Secures Data Across Remote Workforces with Vera

Large Financial Services Company, a global financial institution with nearly 50,000 employees and the 10th largest bank in the United States, needed to enable a remote and mobile workforce while protecting sensitive financial data and meeting strict regulatory requirements. Traditional perimeter defenses and network-centric controls were no longer sufficient given widespread BYOD and cloud collaboration, so the Company turned to Vera to provide a data-centric security approach.

Vera deployed its SaaS data protection platform, integrating with Box, Microsoft (SharePoint/OneDrive) and Dropbox to automatically encrypt files (AES-256) and secure key transport (TLS 1.2) while applying real-time, file-level access policies that travel with the data. The implementation gave IT visibility, auditability and granular control across devices and cloud apps, allowed secure native editing and seamless user workflows, and enabled the Company to protect critical content for its ~50,000 employees while reducing exposure from perimeter gaps.
