South Orange County Community College District operates 1.5 MW cogeneration plant with Veolia North America

The South Orange County Community College District (SOCCCD) faced the challenge of finding an experienced partner to operate and maintain the aging cogeneration plant at its Saddleback College campus. The district needed to ensure the reliable supply of chilled water, hot water, and electricity to the campus while managing its environmental impact and ensuring safety. They selected Veolia North America for its operation and maintenance (O&M) services.

Veolia implemented a comprehensive solution, providing 24/7 O&M and remote monitoring for the central plant. They established new safety programs, operating guidelines, and performed equipment assessments. The results included greater operational efficiencies, reliable energy and water supplies, and the meeting of stringent environmental targets. Impressed by the initial success, SOCCCD expanded its partnership by also hiring Veolia to provide campus-wide Environmental Health & Safety services.
