A Veolia North America Case Study

New York State saves $6 million annually with Veolia North America

New York State wanted to decrease electricity use by 15 percent and increase renewable generation by 30 percent by 2015. To meet these goals for its many facilities, including major landmarks, it engaged Veolia North America's energy consulting group, SourceOne, to conduct energy-efficiency audits and projects.

Veolia North America implemented innovative energy efficiency approaches, including steam repairs, chiller replacements, and lighting improvements. These conservation programs saved New York State taxpayers an average of $6 million annually, avoided the equivalent of 2.5 million barrels of oil per year, and helped the state avoid hundreds of thousands of tons of greenhouse gas emissions.
