A Veolia North America Case Study
Kings Plaza Mall in Brooklyn engaged Veolia North America to operate and maintain its islanded central utility — including a 12.8 MW combined heat and power (CHP) plant, a 3,720-ton chiller plant and supplemental heating services for the 1.2 million sq. ft. commercial property. Because the plant runs off-grid and must supply all electric and thermal needs, reliability, resiliency and cost-effective operations were critical to protect tenant services and the mall’s financial performance.
Veolia North America provided daily O&M, capital renewals, upgraded metering and billing, improved operational procedures and distributed infrastructure support to maximize uptime and efficiency. As a result, Veolia North America increased utility performance, reduced downtime, produced ongoing operational cost savings and delivered capital projects that saved Kings Plaza Mall millions of dollars through its technical, procurement and local construction expertise.
