A Ventiv Technology Case Study
The University of Colorado Risk Management claims team, led by Teena Shepperson‑Turner, had implemented the iVOS claims system as an on‑premises solution but struggled after their dedicated administrator left. University IT could only maintain servers and the Oracle database, not the iVOS application, leaving the department to absorb complex fixes, upgrades and support gaps. To resolve these staffing, support and hosting challenges the University engaged Ventiv Technology to provide hosted iVOS (Ventiv hosting).
Ventiv Technology converted the University to Ventiv hosting (contract signed January 2011, go‑live March 2012) and delivered professional services, ongoing upgrades, data security, disaster recovery and ticketed application support. The move produced measurable benefits: predictable monthly costs comparable to prior on‑premises spending but lower once in‑house admin salary was considered, quicker resolution of corrupted claims and other issues via Ventiv support, regular painless upgrades, improved ROI from fuller iVOS feature use, and stronger business‑continuity protection versus the prior multi‑day outage experience.
