A Ventiv Technology Case Study
Schools Insurance Authority, a California joint powers authority that helps school districts self-insure, faced rising insurance costs and the need to reengineer claims operations: better data capture, faster analytics, consolidation of siloed spreadsheets, improved member contact tracking, and Medicare (MMSEA) reporting compliance. To address these challenges, SIA implemented Ventiv Technology’s iVOS claims system and is deploying Ventiv’s RiskConsole risk management information system.
Ventiv Technology’s iVOS streamlined claims intake and administration—enabling triage nurses to enter initial injury data, supporting configurable workflows like “medical-only RTW,” and delivering an MMSEA module that removed the threat of up to $1,000/day reporting penalties—while RiskConsole provides data integration, ad hoc reporting and exposure‑to‑claims matching to replace manual multi-week reporting cycles. Together, Ventiv Technology’s solutions improved data capture and compliance, accelerated analytics, surfaced cost drivers for prevention, and offer a clear ROI given that an average California workers’ compensation indemnity claim exceeds $65,000.
