Dignity Health - Customer Case Study

Dignity Health, a large hospital system with more than 60,000 caregivers across Arizona, California and Nevada, faced rising patient-safety and employee-injury risks that threatened care quality and drove up hospital professional liability and workers’ compensation costs. To centralize incident capture and claims management, Dignity Health deployed Ventiv Technology’s iVOS claims and event management solution to support event reporting, injury coding and claims workflow.

Ventiv Technology’s iVOS gave Dignity Health structured injury coding, event reporting, return-to-work tracking, automated OSHA logs and workflow tools to enforce timely investigations. The system—implemented since 2003—helped drive measurable gains: indemnity injury rates fell from 4.76 per 100 FTEs in 2003 to 1.524 in 2009 and 1.247 in 2010, the organization now handles roughly 120,000–130,000 event reports annually, reduced manual recordkeeping and improved lost‑time monitoring and claims efficiency. Ventiv Technology’s solution also supported a stronger patient‑safety culture and more paperless, auditable processes.
