AkzoNobel, the global paints, coatings and specialty chemicals company, needed to replace an aging, self-built Microsoft Access-based insurance management system that was becoming outdated and difficult to maintain. The insurance team wanted a standardized, IT-supported way to preserve corporate insurance data, improve daily operations, and manage increasingly complex global insurance processes more effectively. Ventiv Technology’s RiskConsole was selected after a broad vendor search.

Ventiv Technology implemented RiskConsole as the central system for AkzoNobel’s worldwide insurance data and processes, consolidating information into one secure platform and automating tasks such as premium allocation and claims reporting. The results included about 500 hours saved per year on data aggregation and reporting, the elimination of a full-time IT resource in the insurance department, and improved control and efficiency across 18 business units worldwide.
