YPC Technologies Safety Enclosure for Cobot Chef

YPC Technologies, a Montreal-based food robotics startup building a robotic kitchen, needed a complete, safe enclosure and frame to operate and demonstrate their automated “Cobot Chef.” Unable to find an off‑the‑shelf solution and working on a tight development timeline, YPC turned to Vention and its MachineBuilder platform (with URCap integration) for a fast, configurable safety cell that would let them capture client feedback before further funding rounds.

Vention supplied a custom safety enclosure using modular hardware, clear polycarbonate safety panels, sliding replenishment doors and a small dish‑output hatch, with hands‑on support from Vention’s Application Engineering team. The solution cost USD $6,000, with 4 hours of design time and 8 hours of assembly (bringing the cell from development to assembly in days), enabling safe demonstrations, easy iteration and future expansion without buying new frames—delivering rapid commissioning and measurable time and cost savings for YPC Technologies.
