Wilder Systems - Customer Case Study

Wilder Systems, a Texas-based robot system integrator focused on drilling and fastening for aerospace, needed to automate manual drilling to boost production quality and worker safety while making minimal changes to existing processes. Facing a tight deadline and low tolerance for long lead times, they turned to Vention, using Vention’s MachineBuilder platform and aluminum extrusion and assembly plate products to design a large, rigid test fixture that would ensure high repeatability and accuracy.

Vention worked with Wilder Systems’ team and application engineers to develop a fixture built around the existing holding equipment using Vention’s 80 x 90 mm and 3,330 mm double‑wide aluminum extrusions plus 90°/Tee and V‑shaped assembly plates; design took 2 hours, assembly 7 hours and commissioning 12 hours. The Vention solution delivered a 10.48 ft × 10.93 ft × 10.33 ft rigid test frame (equipment cost ~USD $3,593), enabling reliable, repeatable robotic drilling with improved productivity and worker safety.
