WALT Machine, Inc. - Customer Case Study

WALT Machine, Inc., a Mississippi-based CNC machine shop serving the defense industry, needed to regroup three CNC lathes and automate machine-tending plus post-machining inspection using a single UR10 cobot to meet a critical production contract. They turned to Vention and its MachineMotion automation platform to provide a modular, quickly deployable solution that could be customized to their shop-floor constraints.

Vention delivered a custom 40-foot overhead 7th-axis range extender with the Vention MachineMotion controller and Vention URCap for Linear Motion, carrying a UR10 at up to 1.5 m/s. The turnkey system (equipment cost $23,000) was designed in 5 hours, assembled in 48 hours and commissioned in 16 hours—completed in 30 days—creating a fully automated triple‑CNC robot cell that met WALT Machine, Inc.’s contract requirements while enabling fast reconfiguration and rapid redeployment.
