University of Delaware - Customer Case Study

The University of Delaware MakerGym, a 5,000 sq. ft. design and fabrication space, needed two enclosure systems—to ventilate potentially hazardous off‑gassing from 3D printers and to secure materials and projects. They partnered with Vention, using Vention’s online CAD software and modular enclosure components to design solutions that maintained visibility while improving safety and access control.

Vention provided modular safety enclosures with clear polycarbonate panels for printer protection and a 21‑foot enclosure with thermoplastic wire mesh panels rated to support up to 500 N, enabling easy integration of power, exhaust, data and fire‑suppression systems. The project cost $43,000, took 4 hours of design and 80 hours of assembly, was completed in three days, and the University of Delaware praised Vention’s easy CAD tools and prompt post‑assembly support.
