A Vention Case Study
The University of Connecticut’s Machine, Automation and Control Systems Laboratory needed a flexible robot workstation to investigate the theory and practice of dynamic systems and controls and to better understand the interplay between data, system, and control in machines and automation processes. They partnered with Vention, using Vention’s design and build platform to develop a dual-arm Universal Robots (UR) workstation for hands-on teaching and research.
Vention delivered a customized dual-UR workstation built with Vention’s tools that was completed in 14 days, required only 3 hours of design time and 5 hours of assembly, and had an equipment cost of $2,000 USD—demonstrating rapid deployment, low cost, and easy customization. Vention’s solution gave UConn a ready-to-use lab asset that accelerated curriculum and experimentation in automation and control.
