Turner Machine Development (TMD), a Vention Automation Partner, needed to help its manufacturing client meet a monthly demand target while eliminating cycle time inconsistencies caused by a manual elastic stapling process. Using Vention’s MachineBuilder platform and modular hardware, TMD set out to automate a task that was still heavily dependent on manual handling.

Vention enabled TMD to build a custom 6-axis elastic stapling machine with a 4-axis XYZ gantry, infeed stages, outfeed conveyor, and pneumatic vacuum/cylinder controls. The system cut changeover time from 30 minutes to 5 minutes, achieved 12 staples per minute, and supports up to 1,000 configurable recipes per fixture plate, with each recipe able to staple up to eight locations.
