Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center - Customer Case Study

Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center (MMTC), a consulting and training organization serving local manufacturers for 30 years, needed a modular automation system to better educate clients on a wide range of automation applications. The challenge was to demonstrate that industrial automation is both technically and financially attainable for small to medium-sized manufacturers, while keeping training practical and hands-on. Vention’s modular platform and machine-building tools were used to support this effort.

Vention helped MMTC design and deploy a versatile automation demo machine in just two weeks, with 10 hours of design time and 96 hours of assembly time. The system included a Universal Robot UR10 with an overhead range extender, Vention MachineMotion-V2, URCap software, and multiple actuators and safety components to showcase machine tending, conveying, range extending, and more. As a result, MMTC now uses the machine in training sessions and roadshows across the state to more effectively promote automation and educate business leaders.
