JMC Motion, a Vention Automation Partner, needed a fast, cost-conscious way to reduce scrap, improve process verification, and increase traceability for a sheet extrusion customer that was spending significant time and money on rework. Working with Vention’s modular automation platform, including MachineBuilder and Vention extrusions, JMC Motion set out to automate quality control within a tight timeframe.

Vention and JMC Motion implemented a multi-station thickness monitoring system with five linear actuators, five HMIs, seven remote operator panels, and data logging for traceability across the extrusion line. The solution gave operators real-time thickness feedback to make immediate adjustments, helping reduce scrap by 1000%, increase process control and traceability by 75%, and cut deployment time to just 3 days.
