A Vention Case Study
The University of Tulsa partnered with Vention to support its aging-in-place robotics research, where the team needed a flexible, reliable way to test collaborative robots for assistive tasks like sit-to-stand motion, balance training, and helping older adults complete everyday activities. To meet these goals, the university needed hardware and software that could be quickly deployed, easy to integrate, and rigid enough for precise research applications.
Vention implemented a collaborative robotics platform featuring a Robot 7th Axis setup with a telescoping column, two UR5e robot arms, a UR20 cobot arm, and the MachineMotion controller with URCap integration. The solution expanded robot reach to near-ceiling height, enabled new bimanual and assistive task configurations, and streamlined setup with strong compatibility and support. As a result, University of Tulsa was able to move quickly into research rather than troubleshooting, helping position the school as a premier robotics research facility.
