A Vention Case Study
Ferro Technique, a Canadian machine tool distributor founded in 1952, needed a custom machine-tending drawer system to pick and place raw materials from a drawer to a CNC while keeping operators outside the cell. They turned to Vention, using Vention’s modular hardware and Public Design Library to develop a compact, repeatable solution for their clients.
Using Vention components, Ferro Technique built a bi‑directional drawer system that lets a robot operate inside the cell while operators load/unload from the outside; the design required about 3 hours of design time, 8 hours of assembly, and roughly $3.5K in equipment cost. The Vention-based solution has been published and reused five times, delivering a fast, low-cost machine-tending option with proven client adoption.
