Cripps & Sons, a high-end residential kitchen cabinet maker, needed a way to scale craftsmanship while reducing the burden of manual sanding and improving finish consistency. They partnered with Vention and evaluated its Rapid Series Sanding solution to address a major production bottleneck with a more intuitive, automation-based approach.

Vention implemented a robotic sanding cell using a FANUC CRX-25iA robot, MachineMotion controller, and MachineApps software, optimized for 3M abrasives. The result was a 2–3x productivity increase, a 50% reduction in sanding time, and more consistent, higher-quality finishes that improved downstream spraying quality; the automation also freed operators for higher-value work and increased job satisfaction.
