Automation Engineering Company - Customer Case Study

Automation Engineering Company (AEC) is a Vention Automation Partner and machine builder/integrator that needed to help a customer maintain consistent output during COVID-era labor shortages. Using Vention’s machine tending platform, they set out to automate coordinate measuring machine (CMM) inspection and part marking for specialty cast parts with significant variation, while also reducing repetitive manual work.

Vention helped AEC build a custom machine tending cell using a FANUC CRX10ia/L robot on a Vention Robot 7th Axis, along with carts, a safety system, and a MachineMotion controller. The system enabled multi-part-family production with minimal changeover, 20 hours of lights-out production, improved safety, and reallocated 3 FTEs to higher-value tasks. After 18 months, the customer achieved the targeted ROI.
