A Vention Case Study
Acutec Precision Aerospace, Inc., a vertically integrated aerospace manufacturer, needed to increase production without compromising quality amid skilled labor shortages and rising demand. The company faced the challenge of automating a complex workflow across multiple CNC lathes, washing stations, and inspection equipment, including a large 33-foot linear motion requirement that was beyond typical off-the-shelf systems. Vention provided the automation platform and expertise needed for the project, including a custom 7th Axis range extender.
Vention implemented a 10-meter 7th Axis robotic system using MachineBuilder, MachineMotion, and MachineLogic to automate multi-machine tending, washing, and inspection. The solution was fully operational in under two months and delivered an average of six hours of lights-out production per day, helping Acutec achieve a 37% increase in production capacity and approximately $78,000 in annual labor savings.
